A vision board is a powerful tool that can really help you to realize and achieve your goals. It is a practical way of establishing your goals and motivating you to accomplish this. Think of it as a modern-day sort of magic.

Having a clear vision makes it easy for you to direct your efforts in a purposeful way that will lead you toward your goals. Visualizing and understanding this vision is essentially a way of pinpointing exactly what you want to achieve and where you want to go.

This is the purpose of a vision board. It is a physical form of manifestation. Attracting your dream vision by thinking about it, visualizing it, and believing it will happen. Creating a vision board is an amazing way to focus on your vision, set your intentions and begin the manifestation process.

What is a Vision Board?

There is no one set way to create a vision board and it can take any form you want. Whether it is a physical board of images, a selection of imagery on your wall, a collection of objects, or a digital moodboard. It’s a visual representation of your goals, containing images or text that represent something you’re trying to accomplish. Overall, your vision board is unique to you in how it works best for you in your manifestation process.

The best way to use a vision board is to have it somewhere where you will see it often. If it is digital, then have it on your phone and on your computer so it is constantly available to you. Or if it is physical, place it in a room that you use often, so you are always reminded of it.

“If we don’t have a clear direction of where we’re headed or where we want to go, it can be very easy to get caught up in things that aren’t actually good for us. Creating a vision board is a powerful way of getting to know yourself and what it is you truly want to manifest and call into your life.”

What to Include on Your Vision Board

When it comes to what you want to include on your vision board, you want to consider what sparks your imagination, and what aligns with your dreams.

Your vision board should be a representation of what’s important to you. So consider all areas of your life – values, beliefs, health, career, finances, relationships, hobbies, travel, personal growth… anything that is important and resonates with you.

Think about the dreams of lifelong ambitions you might have had. These can be big dreams such as becoming a published author or traveling around the world. Or, they can also be the smaller dreams such as taking dance classes or living a more sustainable lifestyle. Whatever the dream, you just have to make sure it really aligns with who you are and what you want.

How to Make a Vision Board

The first thing you need to do is to decide how you want to create your vision board, whether it will be physical or digital, and in what context. Both have different advantages so it’s important to consider which you think will be the most effective for you.

Spend some time getting clear on what sort of goals you want to set. Are you looking to create a vision for the next year of your life? Or maybe it is much longer and you want to create a 10-year plan. To create a vision that will lead you towards your goals, you need to know what they are. You can include as many or as few goals as you want, there is no correct amount!

Once you have an understanding of what you want your vision to be, find images or text that inspire you, and that you feel represent your goals. This could be magazine clippings, photos, printed images, or a Pinterest board of images. Then, start arranging! Again, there is no set way of doing this so just lay out the images in a way that feels right to you and fills you with inspiration when you look at them. Don’t overthink or overanalyze it, just have fun and take your time until it feels right.

Once you’re done, make sure to put your vision board in a place where you will see it regularly – the most important thing is is to look at it as often as possible,

How Does it Work?

Vision boards allow you to take responsibility for your life and the creation of it in the way that you desire. It is an act of acknowledging what you really want and affirming that you are ready to achieve it. Creating a vision board is a magical process of intention, working together with the universe to bring your dream vision to life.

“It is the concept that thoughts precede behavior. Mindsets drive behaviors that drive outcomes.” Dr. Erin Eatough, BetterUp

They are an effective tool because they serve as a visual reminder of your intentions, which then shape your thoughts and actions. In the process of manifesting the things you want, your vision board is there to remind you of what matters to you and help you in taking action to achieve this.

A vision board is a fun and creative way to visualize your goals as a reality. It can be especially effective for you if you struggle to stay clear on your vision and lose track of where you’re heading.
